					<description><![CDATA[Residents of Psevdas have protested against the Community Council’s decision to move ahead with the creation of a wind park south of the community.
Locals met on Wednesday afternoon to demonstrate against the Community Council’s decision. The plan involves the installation and the operation of three wind turbines on a hillside around three kilometres away from the residential area of Psevdas.
According to the Larnaca Press News Agency, during the demonstration a document was revealed showing that the Council’s decision was affected .&#160;.&#160;.]]></description>

According to the Green Party, the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) has issued a licence for the Cape Greco National Park, with CERA saying the site is actually in Ayia Napa. 					<description><![CDATA[Residents of the village of Ayios Theodoros in Larnaca yesterday carried out a protest against plans for wind farms in the area.
After a community meeting on Wednesday night, the village council decided to hold a demonstration at the &#8220;˜Kalatrikas&#8217; area 1.3 kilometres outside the residential area of the village. Inhabitants of the Ayios Theodoros village were at the scene by 4am yesterday, planning to disrupt the work of the construction company.

					<description><![CDATA[Vandals took to wind masts at the weekend, causing over £200,00 worth of damage but wind energy companies say they won&#8217;t be deterred.
Wind energy companies say wind farms in the area of Ayios Theodoros wind , despite the vandalism that saw monitoring equipment destroyed.
The wind masts have been set up in the area to measure and evaluate wind speeds in the area. Vandals cut the cables that supported the masts, resulting in the destruction of the devices.

					<description><![CDATA[A Greek company has announced its local subsidiary had won production licenses to build new windparks in Cyprus, following last week&#8217;s EU energy report that showed the island fell short in the area of developing Renewable Energy Sources (RES).
Ch.Rokas ABEE&#8217;s subsidiary Rokas Aeoliki Cyprus Ltd will build four new windpower parks in Cyprus, giving a total power of 179.4 MW.
According to reports the â‚¬200 million project will be built in two stages.

					<description><![CDATA[Birdlife Cyprus has expressed concern for the safety of millions of birds after the government last week announced the licensing of 23 wind farms across the island.
The organisation&#8217;s manager, Martin Hellicar told the Mail that there are plans for 505 turbines in total at a cost of several million pounds.
