FLOYD COUNTY, VA –
A Texas-based company, Horizon Wind Energy, is proposing to build a wind farm in Floyd County.
A company spokesperson tells us the company is still in the very early stages of the proposal.
Landowners tell us they have been in contact with the company. The wind farm would be built along Wills Ridge.
Some in the area support the idea.
“I think we should do it. I would let them put one on my land,” said Betty Addison, who owns several acres of land.
Others however do not like the idea, like James Chaffin, who also owns land in the area.
“My main concern is the racket that you would have to put up with, the noise would be my biggest kick against the whole thing,” said Chaffin.
The company tells us they are meeting with landowners this week to discuss the potential project.
