Praise for Cotten Farm Action Group in wind farm fight
As ward councillors we would like to extend our admiration for the professional way all the relevant parish councils and Cotton Farm Action Group conducted their fight in opposing the wind farm at Cotton Farm in the parish of The Offords – some eight Turbines 127metres in height (three times that of Wood Green turbine), and the large attendance of residents at the [development management panel] meeting was wonderful.
We were delighted that the recommendation was amended, not only the objection as made by HDC officers in respect of Toseland Hall a Grade II-listed building, but also that the impact on the villages of eight turbines was not acceptable.
As members of the panel, we had not expressed our opinion before the meeting on November 16. We will now say loud and clear that we object to the wind farm and say no to any turbines of any height any size.
