Group opposes wind farm
ROCHELLE — During the Northern Illinois Municipal Power Agency’s monthly meeting Wednesday afternoon, members of the agency heard concerns about the Eagle View Community Wind Project from a group that opposes the proposed wind farm.
The proposal of the joint-action agency is for a set of up to eight wind turbines that might be located in the Rochelle area near IL Route 64, west of IL Route 251 near the Village of Kings.
Kings resident and White Rock Township Planning and Zoning Commission member Mark Hayes lives on Mowers Road, adjacent to where the proposed wind mills would be constructed. He is part of the group, Ogle the 4th Community, which was recently formed in opposition to the project — on Wednesday, he served as spokesman for the group.
“We wish to publicly state our concerns and opposition to the Eagle View Community Wind Project initiative,” he said.
