Good job everybody!
The wind industry and their cheerleaders seem to come out with a new sleazy accusation every week trying to discredit the information we are providing. We usually ignore this but I would just like to set the record straight once and for all on one silly rumour.
Wind Concerns Ontario receives absolutely no funding, support or has any ties whatsoever to the coal industry, nuclear industry or any other industry for that matter. We rely totally on volunteers who mostly pay their own expenses. Almost everything we have undertaken is free or very low cost. When larger donations are needed we canvass the various groups and members in WCO.
This group started as a loose bunch of people across Ontario who kept in contact through email. Last October we decided to give ourselves a name and invite other similar groups in Ontario to join us. It snowballed from there. At that time we had 22 groups…now it’s mushroomed into 36 groups. It is truly “grassroots” in every sense of the word.
As we approach our one year anniversary, I want to applaud all the volunteers of Wind Concerns Ontario who have given so much of themselves to work towards a goal of which they truly have passion and drive. I especially want to thank the various people who volunteer to speak at meetings throughout Ontario, often driving very long distances. Also the Health team and our media liaison for all the tremendous success they have achieved.
Under the forceful, new leadership of John Laforet we look forward to the second year of WCO and the new initiatives and challenges that face us. Good job everybody!!

[note: like Wind Concerns Ontario, National Wind Watch provides a means for diverse groups to share information and strengthen each other. All of the work for NWW is by unpaid volunteers with many other demands on their time and resources but who consider this effort an important contribution to protecting our world.
National Wind Watch receives no support from any industry or political interests. Funding comes only from concerned individuals, representing a broad range of perspectives. --NWW ed.]
