Management of public lands will be topic at 2 forums
Management of public lands will be under review at two separate gatherings in Modoc County, when federal Bureau of Land Management officials will discuss the future of rangelands, historic sites and off-road vehicles.
BLM’s Northeast California Resource Advisory Council will discuss land-use plans for the region from Susanville to Alturas when it meets in Alturas on Thursday and Friday.
The two-day meeting includes a proposed land exchange with the Kramer Ranch near Bieber, and an update and public comment period on proposed wind energy and transmission line projects.
On June 15, a congressionally designated Experimental Stewardship Program will start a weeklong meeting in Cedarville focused on improving public rangeland management.
