Residents reject wind farm
A majority of Tilney St Lawrence villagers who took part in a survey to air their views on plans for a wind farm on their doorstep are against the scheme.
Questionnaires were delivered to every home in the village by the parish council and 22 per cent of households replied.
The results revealed that three out of four (74.2 per cent) opposed proposals for a 19-turbine wind farm at Marshland St James.
Tilney Parish Council became involved because some of the turbines would be inside its parish boundary.
It will now present those objections to local planners and to the Government and is urging others with comments in favour or against to send them to Gareth Leigh at Department of Energy and Climate Change, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H OER or gareth.leigh@berr.gsi.gov.uk quoting “Marshland Wind Farm”.
