Windfarm plans progress in Redcar
A planning decision has been welcomed by the firm planning to change Redcar’s sea view forever.
EDF Energy Renewables wants to install a controversial a 30-turbine windfarm off Redcar.
Now the firm says it is “delighted” to have secured planning permission for an underground cable route and substation to connect the Teesside Offshore Windfarm to the local electricity grid.
Redcar and Cleveland Council’s planning committee granted permission for the substation, which will consist of several low-rise buildings, transformers and electrical switchgear.
