Locals fight against the wind power park in Lääne Viru County
Energy company OÜ Nelja Energia wants to establish a wind power park in Lääne Viru County in Ojaküla with three wind generators, the locals, however, are against it.
The energy company is planning to invest in the wind power park EEK 150 mln, postimees.ee quotes Viru Teataja.
The locals, who have also submitted a protest letter, are disturbed by the idea that the park would be too close to the village. The people there are most worried about the noise.
CEO of Nelja Energia, Martin Kruus, said that they are willing to establish a greenery on their costs to reduce the noise. “We have nothing against the greenery, but it takes 20-30 years before it would fend off the noise,” one of the locals said.
