Wind farm protesters to hold public meetings
Friday, 5pm — Anti-wind turbine campaigners have organised a series of public meetings in the Vale of Belvoir.
BLOT — Belvoir Locals Opposing Turbines — plan to ask the public for their views on plans to build a huge windfarm at Thacksons Well near Long Bennington.
They will also present the results of their research into wind farms and renewable energy and put across their views on how the development will affect the community.
The meetings are at Allington Village Hall at 7.30pm today, at The Fuller Rooms in Bottesford at 7.15pm on Monday and at Long Bennington Methodist Church at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
The group also campaigned against a planning application to install an anemometer mast for measuring wind speed and direction at a site in Bottesford.
