Hilbert site of wind turbine meeting
HILBERT — A group organized to raise awareness about the potential downside of industrial wind turbines has scheduled a meeting Wednesday to alert landowners to problems with leasing land for wind farms.
The group, called Calumet County Advocates, plans to present repercussions of building industrial wind turbines, including transmission corridors, access roads and decommissioning costs.
Wind proponents will have an opportunity to speak.
The free forum begins at 7 p.m. at Hilbert Community Center, 45 N. Fifth St. For more information, call Ric Van Sistine at 920-989-1316.
