Wind farm planned for South Taranaki
Plans for a wind farm near Waverley in South Taranaki will be outlined to residents at meetings this week.
Allco Wind Energy is planning the 45-turbine site at a coastal location near the town.
The project’s technical advisor, Bernhard Voll, says the wind farm would produce up to 150 megawatts of electricity.
He says meetings are being held in Waverley and Patea on Friday and Saturday this week to inform residents and to hear any concerns they may have.
Mr Voll says the wind farm’s layout will not be finalised, nor a resource consent lodged, until the community has had its say.
