Manheim wind turbine hearing is Monday
A public hearing on the town of Manheim’s proposed wind energy facilities ordinance is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Dolgeville Fire Station.
The draft ordinance includes suggestions made at a previous meeting and governs where towers could go, setbacks and other zoning requirements. There is no current wind turbine proposal before the Town Board, though the Tamarack Group LLC installed two test towers a couple of years ago, Town Clerk Marie Gressler said.
Written comments on the town’s draft ordinance can be mailed or delivered to Town Hall, 6356 Route 167, P.O. Box 32, Dolgeville NY 13329.
Other wind turbine companies have proposed building sites in Jordanville and Fairfield.
