Wind energy — do you believe everything that you've been told?

What a scam!
Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is currently helping foreign interests in their efforts to locate wind factories along the most precious parts of our Texas Coast. If citizens like you don’t wake up and contact your elected officials soon the coast will be lost to wind factories. Construction of the first 84 Mitsubishi turbines is scheduled to begin early in ‘08 on the Kenedy Ranch north of Port Mansfield. Each turbine will rise 413 feet high and have a blade diameter . . .

Improper Industrial Windplant Siting Threatens Pennsylvania Ridgetops

The US Fish & Wildlife Service’s guidance document regarding “wind farm” location states:
Avoid placing turbines in areas where there are endangered species.
Avoid placing turbines in bird migration pathways.
Avoid placing turbines near known bat hibernation, breeding, and maternity colonies.
Avoid fragmenting large, contiguous tracts of wildlife habitat.
As you can see, siting industrial windplants on central Pennsylvania’s forested ridges is in violation of the criteria for acceptable locations according to the US Fish & Wildlife Service.

Our Biosphere Has No Backyard

Words, carelessly used, quickly lose meaning.
“NIMBY” is an acronym for “Not In My Back Yard.” It’s often used as a pejorative by those attempting to make environmentalists appear to be self-serving moral relativists; people who change their values to suit their personal situations and interests.
Even the slightest appearance of self interest can trigger the “NIMBY” epithet. The environmentalist who attempts to deny the charge will look increasingly ridiculous as he goes through the clumsy process . . .
