A ‘No’ Vote at Lowell Town Meeting, March 2

To the people of Lowell: Attending all the informational meetings in Lowell concerning the current effort to erect 400 foot wind turbines, covering several miles of the Lowell Mountain ridge line, leaves me troubled by the questions that have not been answered – perhaps not even asked yet. When we meet as a community we should always look at that underlying question; How will we offer our children and grandchildren a life, here in our towns, with a decent standard . . .

Preserve the Golden Crescent, America’s national treasure

The Golden Crescent, America’s national treasure and pristine gateway to Lake Ontario, the St Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands region is in immediate danger of becoming an industrial wind complex. Thousands of foreign made turbines will blanket islands, shorelines and shallow waters. High powered transmission lines are planned to slash through our crop and grazing lands. America’s best sport fishing, boating and sailing waters are in danger of ruin. We have kept the golden crescent green for generations; please . . .

Is wind power really green? Preserve Grey Highlands ad

Is wind power really green? Examine the facts, then decide for yourself. Denmark is the world’s most wind-intensive nation with more than 6,000 turbines generating 19% of its electricity. But consider this: Not one fossil fuel power plant has been closed 50% more coal-generated electricity is needed to cover wind’s failings Pollution and carbon dioxide emissions rose 36% in 2006 alone Danish electricity costs are the highest in Europe So what are the Danes saying about wind power now? “Windmills . . .
