Washington State's Governor condones the usurping of local land use authority
After close to 5 years of public testimony, the unanimous recommendation for denial of the project by the Kittitas County Planning Commission, and the unanimous denial by locally elected (accountable) Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners; the Kittitas Valley Wind Power Project has been approved by a state Governor who is elected by people over 100 miles away and will never have to live near these monstrosities.
The project will be constructed by Houston, Texas based, foreign owned, Horizon Wind . . .

ROKT response to Governor's approval of KVWPP
The people of ROKT are extremely disappointed and angered by the Governor’s decision to approve the KVWPP. The Governor’s decision comes after 5 years of “her” citizens fighting to keep their homes and families’ safe, and their health and lifestyles protected. She has decided that the economic viability of a foreign-owned energy company is more important that her own constituent’s concerns.

Governor asks EFSEC to reconsider Kittitas project
ROKT Friends,
Good news! The Governor today sent the recommendation for the KVWPP [Kittitas Valley Wind Power Project] back to EFSEC [Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council] asking them to resolve the setback issue to see if the project can be made viable with greater setbacks.

Please read this string of conversations between myself & EFSEC [State Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council]. I’ve copied the Governor as well, because she is about to be presented the EFSEC ruling and has the final decision to approve or deny.
Wind energy is ok, . . .

Deny KVWPP and Desert Claim Wind Power Project
Those of us who own property in the area where the Kitttitas Valley Wind Power Project is being proposed are trying to convince our state’s governor, Gregoire, to deny this project.
The Governor has the recommendation to approve the project from EFSEC before her and will make the decision for denial or approval within the next five weeks.
Our group, ROKT (Residents Opposed to Kittitas Turbines) has a petition on the web site thepetitionsite.com listed under Human Rights and the . . .

Kittitas County overruled on wind farm construction
After five years of incredibly dedicated local opposition in an attempt to preserve one of the truly unique scenic areas of the United States, protect the diverse population of migrating raptors in the area, and protect the quality of life of more than 100 residents that will be forced to live near these monstrosities; a Washington State, non-elected, council overruled the majority of residents wishes as well as their locally elected officials and have recommended building the Kittitas Valley . . .
