On October 6, 2007, more than 1,500 French citizens, members of national federations and local associations, came from all over France along with local elected officials to demonstrate against unjustified and scandalous industrial wind. Received by the minister of the environment, a delegation presented their demands.

Despite its promises, the state has still not kept its commitments.

One year later, in contempt of the most elementary democracy, the demented program instigated by the industrial wind lobby risks being voted on:

The law proposed by the Grenelle de l’environnement to Parliament in October 2008 equals a check from taxpayers of 2.5 billion euros/year for 25,000 MW of wind energy, more than 10,000 to 15,000 giant wind turbines erected throughout France.

It is to denounce that planning error, which imperils the economy as well as the natural and cultural heritage of the French people, that the Collectif du 4 octobre will demonstrate in Paris at the ministries.

The 3rd International Conference on Wind Turbine Noise will be held over 3 days from 17-19th June 2009 in Aalborg, Denmark.

This Third International Conference, organised by Ince/Europe, will once again provide a venue for all those with an interest in wind turbine noise, and its effects on people, to meet together and also meet with those who design wind turbine installations, both in industry and in the planning process.

There is also an introductory course on noise on the afternoon prior to the conference. This has proved very popular in previous years.

History

The first Wind Turbine Noise conference took place in Berlin in 2005 and was a great success, bringing together 130 delegates from 22 countries.

The Second Wind Turbine Noise conference took place in Lyon, France in 2007 with more than 150 delegates from 24 countries around the world, representing:

manufacturers

developers

researchers in noise and vibration

environmentalists

pressure groups

consultants

This conference aims to bring together the latest information on noise and vibration from wind turbines to give an unbiased framework from within which future developments can be assessed. The conference will also provide a venue for researchers on wind turbine noise and its effects to meet together and also meet with those who design wind turbine installations, both in industry and in the planning process.

Who should attend?

Specialists in noise and vibration and its effects

Wind turbine designers and manufacturers

Developers of Wind farms

Environmental protection officers

Community planners and decision makers

Consultants

And all others who have an interest in wind turbine noise.

Course on Noise

A half day introductory course on basic ideas on noise and its assessment, is planned for the afternoon and evening of Tuesday 16 June. This will help to set the scene for those without specialist knowledge. There is a separate registration fee for this course of €120 Euros, including course notes. The course will cover:

Noise and Decibels

Sound power and sound pressure Noise levels and human hearing

Human response to noise

Sources of noise

Propagation of noise

Noise control

Basics of noise from wind turbines

Production and propagation

In previous years the course was judged to be “extremely useful” by many of those who attended and helped their understanding of the more technical papers at the conference.

Go to windturbinenoise2009.org for more information, including how to submit a paper, purchase recordings of previous conferences, register, and join the windturbine2009 mailing list and about Aalborg, the hotel hosting the conference, and more.

Kim Iles and myself, Greg Foster, thought wind energy was great, and I still think individual wind turbines are one of many things we can do for ourselves to lessen the impact on the earth. Industrial Wind power is NOT!

We have been told at a recent meeting that 450 turbines are to be put in the Chatham-Kent are and in our neighboring county of Essex 900 turbines are to be erected. …

We own 2 health food stores 1 in Chatham and 1 in Blenheim, Ontario.

We have a radio show that has been running for over 2 years on CFCO called “Ask the Health Experts”.

Thursday the 28th we will be having Dr. Nina Pierpont on our radio show! She will be sharing her information on air to our audience.

Our radio broadcast can be hear from Buffalo, NY, and Toronto, Canada, to Toledo, Ohio.

Please spread the word … any help in posters, dvds, information on effects to humans and environment (pictures) would be great!

it is crunch time for us. Our city council is planning for a special meeting for March 25th to go thru with the rest of the tenders!

I visited the Kruger site with approx. 100 concrete slabs already DONE!!! some within .6 kilometres from residents. People need to be informed about the whole TRUTH!

Thanks, in health and abundance, Greg Foster
