Monsters on the Moorland: Rochdale band competition

“The unique moorland landscapes of the Pennines are under threat like never before. If developers have their way, much of the North’s precious uplands will be covered by a new breed of massive wind turbines towering over 400 feet high and all in the name of saving the environment! Watergrove Reservoir.”

Please click here to see a diagram of how tall these wind farms really are.

“The Pennine peat has been storing carbon dioxide for millions of years and ripping it up will release this into the atmosphere.

“What really matters is that there are huge profits to be made in grants and subsidies to the developers.”

–Mick Bailey, Member of South Pennines
