Monsters on the Moorland: Rochdale band competition

“The unique moorland landscapes of the Pennines are under threat like never before. If developers have their way, much of the North’s precious uplands will be covered by a new breed of massive wind turbines towering over 400 feet high and all in the name of saving the environment! Watergrove Reservoir.” Please click here to see a diagram of how tall these wind farms really are. “The Pennine peat has been storing carbon dioxide for millions of years and ripping . . .

    Wind Turbine Noise

Residents inside this industrial wind farm in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin were told that noise from the turbines wouldn’t be a problem with a setback of 1000 feet. The Meyer family who live near the town of Byron, in Fond du Lac County Wisconsin tell us differently.

VPIRG pushes wind at meetings about shutting down Vt. Yankee

Last night [Jan. 22] I attended a meeting of our local energy awareness group at which VPIRG [Vermont Public Interest Research Group] presented their arguments for the dismantling of Vt. Yankee nuclear power plant in Vernon, Vt. VPIRG was pushing their energy vision for Vt. without power from the nuke plant and wind power, commercial wind power almost entirely, making up 20% of the power of the new Vt. The VPIRG presenter is a young guy apparently traveling around the . . .

NYSEG insert printed "using 100% renewable wind energy"

Energy East, RGE, NYSEG & Iberdrola have been printing this at the bottom of their monthly inserts for several months. I wonder how their printers receive only industrial wind generated electrons as they state their inserts are “printed with soy ink on recycled paper, using 100% renewable wind energy”. [The fact is, the printer gets exactly the same electricity from the grid as its neighbors do.]
