What Have I Done?
Advertisement in the Chilton, Wisc., Times-Journal, October 25, 2007. It was written by Don Bangert on behalf of the farmer, whose contract — following the norm — with the wind company prevents him from speaking openly about any problems. Bangert told National Wind Watch that other farmers have the same feelings expressed here, and if they were allowed to speak there would be no difficulty in passing serious setback and noise restrictions. Which is why the wind companies’ contracts prevent . . .

CALUMET COUNTY CITIZENS NEED TO KNOW BEFORE WE CAN ACT!
DEAR WIND TURBINE COMPANIES (EcoEnergy and Midwest Wind Energy),

Petition to British Prime Minister
“We petition the Prime Minister to Stop erecting wind turbines. 1000 tonnes of concrete is required to install each turbine. Concrete production is the second most polluting industrial process in the world. Wind turbines produce a low and unreliable source of power that cannot be relied upon, so conventional power stations are kept running as backup anyway. Wind Turbines are noisy and spoil our landscape. Please prevent any more from being installed.”

Reform of siting process for wind projects under 100 MW
Comments due by Dec. 8! Click here
In Wisconsin, local governments can prevent an energy development only on health and safety grounds. This “reform” would take away that right. In addition, this “reform” proposes easing any remaining burden on the developer.
“7. Specific Description of Policy Proposal: Legislation would contain the following elements: (1) definitions of large and small wind energy systems; (2) a requirement on the PSC to draft uniform standards for siting large and small wind energy systems; (3) creation . . .
